Why we advance the ad budget ourselves

By Michael Kischkowitsch · · 5 min read

Key takeaways
  • We carry the media risk: we advance the ad budget for your campaign. You don't have to pay for ads up front.
  • The client pays per lead, not for clicks or reach that goes nowhere. You pay for the result, not the effort.
  • Because our money is on the line, we want exactly what you want. Leads that turn into deals, not just impressions.
  • This is not a promise of results. It's aligned interests. We deliberately give no guarantees. A lead is still a lead.

With most agencies, the client pays the ad budget and carries the risk that it delivers nothing. With us, it's the other way around: we advance the budget. That isn't generosity. It's the logical consequence of our model.

1. Who carries the media risk

Ads cost money before the first lead comes in. We put up that ad budget. You don't pay up front for clicks whose outcome nobody knows in advance. What you pay for is what comes out at the end: the individual, exclusive lead.

When you advance your own budget, you choose your projects differently, and you work differently.

2. Skin in the game

Because our own money is in the ad market, we have exactly the same interest you do: it shouldn't stop at reach, it should lead to inquiries that become deals. A campaign that only produces clicks costs us money, so we don't build it that way. What makes up such a campaign technically is covered in What's behind a lead campaign.

This model also forces us to be selective: we only take on projects where the math works for both sides. The deal value at which that happens is covered in When a lead pays off.

3. What this is not

Advancing the budget doesn't mean guaranteeing results. We don't promise a specific number of deals or a close rate. That wouldn't be credible. A lead is still a qualified inquiry, not a signed deal; why that is is covered separately.

What you get is something more solid than a promise: a partner whose own money depends on the same leads as yours. Aligned interests beat any guarantee on paper.
